User Perceptions of Information Security: Evidence from Takoradi Technical University

This study related to the importance of information and technology in today's global business. The nature systems also exposes them threats which make prone security breaches. Information risks are several internal external, making it almost impossible for only professionals handle. therefore reinforces need involve end-users by educating be aware threats, their role curbing those threats. Related literature was reviewed establish business problem theoretically. Using focus group discussions open-ended interview guide, data collected from non-security employees Takoradi Polytechnic. provided understanding employees' present needs, perception security, personal initiative, level awareness. key findings suggested that, currently some arrangements have been made ensure security; however, there is more non-computer-based such as physical training backup systems. Further, because respondents did not perceive current arrangement adequate, they took initiatives like using passwords, formal communication channels obtaining falls outside domain or function, seldom reporting any perceived These seemed basis self-rating awareness, had acquired.
